#mimesisgoesglobal - The roots of the Fabulerie - The Fabulous Museum

Mimesis takes root in La Fabulerie's pedagogical and digital project experience. Throughout the years, we developed a lot of games and tools to teach digital and sciences to the youth.

In 2019, we created a digital Museum for schools. In this Fabulous Museum, children aged from 6 to 12 explore concepts linked to science and biodiversity through an immersive escape game. The content encountered during the adventure is selected by different museums across the city, from their open data collections. In total, it’s more than 12000 children across Marseille visited the Fabulous Museum and had hundreds of amazing feedbacks! After more than two years in our venue, we are now looking for new partners to pursue the Fabulous Museum adventure outside Marseilles and worldwide.

We also worked directly with schools. With the Erasmus + project keep in touch we developed digital training and activities for younger children (3 to 6). With our partners across Europe, we created a set of digital ateliers for children, e-trainings for teachers and digital guidelines for parents. The project aims to introduce good digital practices from early childhood and to give teachers and parents hints to work and discuss digital with their children. At la Fabulerie, we use digital devices for their strengths: but we understand that they come with a lot of wonders and dangers. We think it’s important to show children how to use digital devices creatively while staying safe and open to the world around them.
